Transcript of the Will of Isaac Dell

In the name of God Amen

I, Isaac Dell, of the ? Yeoman in the parish of Wigginton in the county of Hertford being in a bad state of health but of sound mind and memory praised be God therefore and considering the uncertainty of this life, Do make and ordain this my last will and testament Principally I commend my soul to God and my body to the earth to be ? interned at the discretion of my ? ? / named and as to ? my estate which it doth please God to bless me with ? ? and dispose thereof as follows that is to say I give will devise? And bequeath unto my eldest son William Dell present and assigned all of my freeholds And copyhold cottages with the appurtenances situated and being at Wigginton lying within and hold of the manor of boudly? In the county of Hertford with all outhouses, barns stables orchards yards gardens waters water? And all other hereof belonging ? also giving and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Ann Dell the sum of two hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain ? to be paid to her in six months? Of my decease I also give and bequeath unto my youngest son Isaac Dell the sum of ten pounds to be paid unto him at the ? ? ? ? or quarterly payments of the year? paid by my executors so long as he shall live I also give and bequeath unto my Housekeeper? Jane? ? the sum of ? hundred pounds of like lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to her six months after my decease I also give and bequeath unto my grandson Isaac Dell son of my eldest son William Dell the sum of ten pounds to be paid to him at such time he shall come to the age of twenty one years I also give and bequeath unto my grandson John Dell the like sum of ten pounds to be paid to him at such time as he shall come to the age of twenty one years I also give and bequeath unto my grandson Daniel Dell of the like sum of ten pounds to be paid to him at such time as he shall come to the age of twenty one I also give will and bequeath unto my grandson William Dell son of my youngest son Isaac all that my two freehold cottages or ? with the appurtenances situated and being at Aldbury in the county of Hertford with all outhouses barns stables water water? thereto belonging with an acre of meadow ground thereto adjoining to the same more or less to be ? with at such time as he shall come to the age of twenty one years with the like sum of ten pounds to be paid to him at the same time I also give unto my grandson Isaac Dell the like sum of ten pounds to be paid to him at such time he shall come to the age of twenty one years I also give and bequeath unto my youngest son Isaac Dell all my wearing apparel of what kind or ? the same be which said ? ? ? / I will and order shall be paid by my executors and lastly as to all the ? residue and remainder of my personal effects goods chattels and cattle of whatever kind or nature ? and all my
?????? money with all credits to me belonging and after my just debts and funeral expenses being paid I give and bequeath the same amongst my four sons and daughters William Dell Isaac Dell Mary Harding? Wife of James Harding of Wilstown? And Ann Dell to be equally parted between them share and share alike and I do also appoint my eldest son William and my son in law James Harding to be my full and joint executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all ? wills by me made In witness hereof set my hand etc 9 June 1768.
